Jean-François Millet, Evening Prayer / The Angelus, 1857-1859. Musée d'Orsay, Paris.
After reading Jean-François Millet's painting works and Vincent Van Gogh's reproductions on the same subject recently, I suddenly noticed that we are all lived by somethings, supposed.
Jean-François Millet (1814 to 1865) 's painting works had showed how heroic are The Working Class in society. In Evening Prayer a farmer coupe is praying for the gives by god after hard working. This painting bring a point: The farmer lived because the farm gives.
The Gleaners (1857) showed depicting women stooping in the fields to pick up the leftovers from the harvest, delivered the powerful and timeless statement about The Working Class. Picking up what was left after harvest was regarded as one of the lowest jobs in society. However, people at the higher level in society seems did not aware where their basic food comes from.
Van Gogh had also reproduced many painting works of Millet during his stay at Saint Remy de Provence. He did so because he totally appreciate Millet's acts in displaying The Working Class.

Have we noticed that beside our own hard work, we all are lived by some other things (perhaps farmer, worker, the system of current society, the Earth, ...).
